Project Hometown community standards

Rules should protect the story—not get in its way.

These are the foundations of play in Hometown. The detailed rulebook and application knowledge check will be finalised before the server opens.

Protect the shared story

Roleplay is collaborative. Give other players room to respond, contribute, and make meaningful choices of their own.

Do not use information your character could not reasonably know. Streams, Discord conversations, and other profiles are not in-character knowledge.

Avoid powergaming, invincible characters, and actions that decide another character’s response without allowing them to roleplay it.

Conflict should open new scenes and consequences rather than exist solely to win, punish another player, or end their story.

Injury, fear, loss, trust, and difficult decisions should remain part of your character’s story after the immediate scene ends.

Respect boundaries, communicate concerns calmly, and follow staff direction. Harassment and discriminatory conduct are not part of roleplay.
